I started training with Alvina at the end of last year with the aim to loose weight for my wedding in the summer. I have had several personal trainers in the past, however Alvina’s approach is very different from other trainers I have worked with. I use to spend a lot of time pounding the streets on long runs in the endless task to lose weight, I rarely lifted anything more than 3kg weights and never spent time talking about nutrition – as I result I never really saw great results. However that has all changed and Alvina has taught me a huge amount. She has shown me how to be as effective as possible with my workouts and through routines designed by her on our non training days, I can now be in and out of the gym in 30mins and am still seeing amazing results. I am also learning how to use weights and understand the benefits of them – I can now lift 60kg when doing dead lifts something I am so proud of! Now I can genuinely say I see a difference in the shape of my body every single week. By learning how to use heavier weights I am seeing results I never thought I would achieve.
Alvina is also teaching me how my body works, she takes time to talk about my nutrition and how important it is to eat to lose weight! I always thought you needed to eat less to lose weight- I now know that this isn’t true – you actually can eat more, but it needs to be the right food!
I work long hours and travel for my job, but this hasn’t been a problem at all as we have worked together to create a new lifestyle for me, that not only achieves the results I want but is realistic and doable. Meaning I can still have treats and the odd glass of wine and know that I will still see results.
I love training with Alvina because we are a team and I feel like she wants to see the results as much as I do, which is very motivating. In the time we have been together I have lost 3kg, 1 inch from my waist and 1 1/2 inches off my hips, I am fitter than I have ever been and I cannot remember the last time I felt this happy with my body. My original goal is still important, however I know that by training together this will happen anyway, and I now also want to learn more about my body, continue to tone and change my body shape, and keep pushing my fitness levels.
Alvina is a very good trainer who wants to work with serious clients who want results – I can’t recommend her highly enough. -Emily Driver
